Expert Growers of the Finest Potatoes

About Us

The 6000 acre Norfolk farm has a history dating back to 1957 and is operated independently from the group under the management of William Gribbon. From an area spanning 1,180 acres, plus rented land, 20,000 tonnes of potatoes are yielded annually.

Our Potatoes

Our Norfolk potatoes are grown in the free draining Breckland soil, deep in the Norfolk Brecks. Our unique local soils and semi-continental microclimate assists the development of a potato full of flavour with a clean, bright appearance. Our land is carefully prepared and plentiful irrigation is continuously supplied to encourage a consistent growing environment.

The Environment

The farm is within Environmentally Sensitive areas and all operations are carefully conducted to ensure minimum impact. For the last 30 years around 4 acres of trees have been planted and nearly 250 acres of land have purposely been taken out of production to allow natural habitat areas to thrive. The farm is home to many rare species of bird, including: Skylark, Stone Curlew, Woodlark, Grey Partridge and Lapwing.

‘The Peddler of Swaffham’

In early 1400, ‘The Pedlar of Swaffham’ (a Norfolk man) found gold under his own apple tree. So plentiful was his wealth that he rebuilt the north aisle and tower of the local church.

600 years later, another Norfolk man, William Gribbon, has also found gold with these splendid Norfolk Peer potatoes – not under an apple tree, but in his fields all around Swaffham.
